The Sound Celebration Chorus had the pleasure of hosting a booth at the 2017 Memorial Hospital Be Aware Women’s Fair on Saturday, October 21, 2017.  The fair focused on improving women’s physical and mental health, and singing is a great way to improve both!  Many studies have shown that group singing can greatly reduce stress and anxiety in your everyday life.

Come join us for open rehearsal on Monday nights at 7:00pm at the Hoogland Center for the Arts in Springfield, Il and see how singing can improve your life

If you are a woman who loves to sing a cappella, we are here for you.  The award-winning Sound Celebration Chorus is looking for new members to join the ensemble.

The Chorus is comprised of about 40 members who sing four-part a cappella harmony. The four parts are tenors, who have the highest voices in the group, leads, who generally carry the melody, baritones and basses.

What a treat! Rich Hansen visited our chorus rehearsal and brought his students from Mt. Zion High School. The group of lovely young ladies included a quartet, Stirring Up Treble. (How clever is that?) The quartet sang Lollipop and brought the house down! All the girls (and Rich too) joined us on the risers as we brushed up on our Christmas music. What a special night! Rich and the girls are welcome ANYTIME.

The Sound Celebration Chorus Wins Third Place in the Division A Harmony Classic International Competition Held in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Sound Celebration Chorus just returned from Sweet Adelines International (SAI) Harmony Classic Competition with a Third Place Medal. We are thrilled to be the THIRD highest scoring small chorus in the WORLD. We shared the stage in the Grand Arena at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with other Division A small choruses from California, Florida, Canada, and England.

The first of October the Sound Celebration Chorus presented our annual show, A Cappella All-Stars. We had two shows, a 2:00 matinee and a 7:00 evening show. Our A Cappella All-Stars show not only showcased the award-winning, talented performers in our area, but also was the debut of our Harmony Classic set and served as a send-off on our exciting journey to Las Vegas and International Competition. And what a send-off it was! Just two weeks earlier we debuted our Harmony Classic set at Region 5's Music School, Tribute to the Top. We had so much fun there and received such rave reviews from a barbershop audience that we were anxious and excited to bring it back home to our show audience.
