Open Rehearsals!

If you are a woman who loves to sing a cappella, we are here for you.  The award-winning Sound Celebration Chorus is looking for new members to join the ensemble.
The Chorus is comprised of about 40 members who sing four-part a cappella harmony. The four parts are tenors, who have the highest voices in the group, leads, who generally carry the melody, baritones and basses.
The chorus is a member of Sweet Adelines International, the world’s largest singing organization for women, boasting 23,000 members from five continents.
Sound Celebration represented Spirit of the Midwest, Region 5 last October in Las Vegas for the International Harmony Classic Division and placed 3rd in the World! The chorus competes annually in Region 5’s Convention and Competition. Our next competition is in April 2017, and we are preparing for it now.
Members of the chorus come from as far away as Macomb, Litchfield, Washington and  Decatur for the once-a-week rehearsals. Sound Celebration performs in the barbershop style and covers jazz, contemporary a cappella or pop music and show tunes from 100 years ago to modern day.
The Sound Celebration Chorus holds open rehearsals from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Hoogland Center for the Arts at 420 South 6th Street inSpringfield.
